Keyword Research Services – Steer Clear Until You’ve Read This
Chances are you struggle (like I do) with finding good keywords. Actually, it’s not a problem finding them. My problem is finding good keywords.
When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. I mean, they wouldn’t be telling fibs about their data, would they? Turns out they do and they don’t.
Any data you get isn’t accurate. However it would have been when they collated it. I discovered the answer almost by pure chance.
I was going for a keyword that had roughly five thousand competing pages. I felt I could do well with that one. So I set out putting articles out. Lots of articles.
Pretty soon I noticed over 9000 competitors. My heart sank, I thought my task was gonna be twice as hard now. As it happens most of these extra results were my articles on these different sites.
The point I’m trying to get across is that had I looked at the keyword with 9000 competitors, I would have left it alone. A lot of these sites were ranking with my article so I had a lot of competition but most of it was my own articles. Not a bad situation to be in if you ask me.
I got lucky on that keyword but I suspected I may not get lucky again so I made the decision to try out a keyword research service. Hopefully I could get some golden keywords delivered to my inbox every day. I calculated the cost against the time it would take me and it seemed a value for money concept.
There were a few to choose from but I went with Travis Sago and his Instacash service. After all, he’s the king of the bum marketers. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.
One or two good quality keywords delivered each day could save me hours of time. When all I have is time then two hours saved can be huge to me. For what the service costs each day against my 2 hours means I’m getting huge value.
I get a lot of emails from gurus banging on about outsourcing. I see this as an outsourcing project. Outsourcing my keyword research to someone else.
