So you’ve written new fiction book and edited it until it sparkles. You ask ourselves the goal of your publication is going to continue to print publications, electronic publications (epublishing), or self-publishing and you have completed your research, publishers and agents. Now you have a list of agents and editors you’d like to query. Then the next? How do you put them? Have you ever heard, you should not be the complete manuscript of the bat outside, clearly set out a number of agents on its Web site they want to see, and what other people say.
To better understand what to send and what agents and editors are looking for, let’s take a moment to consider the purpose of the most commonly requested items in a query package for new fiction book.4 in the main part of the novel package query is:
* Query Letter
* Example page
* Summary
* Self Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE) if querying by mail
Query Letter: This is your first contact with an agent or editor. If you have other material in your package, the query letter goes on top. It’s designed with your manuscript and you. Our goal is to attract an agent or editor flip your sample page, and start reading. Key points that go into a query letter are:
1) A paragraph description (maybe two) about your novel – think back-of-the-book blurb.
2) the basic statistical information, your time – This includes the genre and word count (for example: “The most amazing book” is a science fiction about 95,000 words).
3) A bit about yourself – only include pertinent information such as experiences related to the subject of your fiction novel download and previous publications.
4) Thanking the agent / editor for his/her time and mention that the complete manuscript is available.
The Sample Pages: this is what we all want the editor/agent to look at, this is your whole reason for sending the query out. These pages can range anywhere from five pages to seventy-five, but whatever the agent/editor asks for always send the beginning of the book.
